Beginning on Saturday, March 18th, The National Civil War Naval Museum will host its annual RiverBlast Festival. This will be a family friendly event complete with live music, family activities, games, cannon firings, and living history interpretations. This educational event takes place on the grounds of Port Columbus on Saturday, March 18th and Sunday, March 19th . Vendors will be on hand offering food, drink and merchandise, and guests can also tour the museum.
Activities will not only highlight the impact of this defining time in our nation’s history, but they will also provide a fun outlet to learn & play. Attendees can enjoy a special day lecture featuring renowned living history interpreters portraying General Grant and General Lee. Face painting, magic shows, cutlass drills, and crafts await our tiniest guests throughout the weekend. A few fabulous musicians are slated to provide the weekend’s soundtrack. This event is free and open to the public as a part of the museum’s community outreach and efforts to provide access to the stories you’ll hear nowhere else.There is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. This event is made possible by generous support from the Columbus Cultural Arts Alliance.
