Death by Chocolate: Digital Decadence
By National Civil War Naval Museum at Port Columbus

On Saturday, October 24th, 2020, The National Civil War Naval Museum will launch their fifth annual fundraiser gala, Death By Chocolate: Digital Decadence. While COVID19 has challenged every aspect of life, it has also prompted us to break through the physical barriers that separate us to bring together community partners, museum supporters, and donors -- in our first-ever virtual gala!

The event will be available to enjoy remotely from the museum’s homepage, YouTube and Facebook pages. In the weeks leading up to the event, the museum’s social media channels will offer a variety of chocolate inspired recipes and party planning tips. The evening’s soundtrack will be provided by B.J. Holland, Fiddler’s Band Duo, and SIANTZ. Attendees can enjoy this  fun concert, along with their favorite liquid libations, and delicious chocolates, for FREE, from anywhere at any time. After the premiere, the virtual gala will be available for attendees  to continue to  stream from the museum’s social media pages.

This virtual event serves as an extremely important fundraiser. The museum cares for a unique collection of nationally important artifacts as well as a strong archival research collection. We offer curriculum-based educational programs for elementary and middle school children, and a variety of entertaining public events and programs for the community. There will be several opportunities during the broadcast for those interested in making a donation to do so.  Your support helps sustain the museum’s operating budget, which in turn allows the museum to keep this important history alive.
