Virtual Beethoven 5K
By Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus

Can you beat Beethoven's 5th Symphony? Join our virtual race to beat Beethoven or have fun trying by completing a 5K in less than 33:32! As a virtual race, you can compete from anywhere in the world while connecting with other participants via our Strava group! Share pictures from your training, get updates from other participants, discover fun playlists, and share your time in the Strava group.

All participants will receive a digital swag bag and t-shirt, which will be sent after the race concludes. Participants who post a photo or screenshot with a time of less than 33:32 within the race period (March 4-7) will also receive an "I beat Beethoven" button.

This event is a fundraiser for the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus (YOGC). Our mission is to provide excellent orchestral experiences for school-aged children in the Chattahoochee Valley. YOGC hosts five programs that typically reach over 350 students/year. COVID-19 has dramatically changed the artistic and educational landscape, and YOGC has worked hard to find creative solutions in order to continue making music in person safely. YOGC remains a safe place for young musicians to gather, reach their creative potential with like-minded peers, and receive excellent music education that complements and builds on their experiences in their school programs. Please consider a tax-deductible donation on top of your race registration fee. Your support means that musicians from over 30 schools and five counties can continue to experience the joy of playing in a symphony orchestra safely.
